Breakout speaker Sharon Heath

Sharon Heath writes fiction and nonfiction exploring the interplay of science and spirit, politics and pop culture. Her tragicomic novel The History of My Body – a coming of age tale of the quirky young daughter of a crusading pro-life father and a helpless wreck of an alcoholic mother – was named a finalist for the 2011 ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year. Her chapter The Church of Her Body appears in the anthology Marked by Fire: Stories of the Jungian Way.

A Jungian analyst in private practice, she is also a faculty member of the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles. She has given talks in the United States and Canada on topics ranging from the place of soul in social media to gossip, envy, secrecy, and belonging. A fan of yoga and British mysteries, she shares a household with a trio of wildly eccentric cats.

She has blogged for the Huffington Post and TerraSpheres, and her own blog at www.sharonheath.com includes riffs on synchronicity, crows, ecology, and quantum physics. She has recently published articles in professional journals on the mantis god of the Bushmen of the Kalahari and tribes formed on Facebook. She is currently working on a sequel to The History of My Body.
